Chris D. - 2002 Subaru WRX Sedan

Shout out to our long time photographer Matt Hans. He's been along for the ride some 8 months or so. This is his first GS shot feature. CONGRATS to him, as tomorrow, May 13 2013 will be his final collage day, he is graduating next Saturday, May the 18th so big congrats to him!!!! Also finding this feature with his sharp eye.....Thanks Matt

Dorthy, it looks we're not in Kansas anymore, or are we? The freedoms we mistake, are all the more reasons to fight......dreaming away in battle! A dream, being the sole structure for ONE OF THE MOST AGGRESSIVE BUGEYES TO DATE was the motive for a returning soldier. Ya definitely don't see too many flared bugeyes flying around, especially this well dressed. Finding something like this is surely next to 'nil in good ol Kansas.  Dressed to a T, Karlton, karlton, karlton, will be the name to remember, as those are the flares on this Subaru helping achieve its momentous stance. The gaping hole in the center of the bumper simply makes way for an unrestricted intercooler feed.  Like ''ice on the bezzy'' it just keeps things cool, while visually alerting you improved efficiency with a hunger for power was desired. So ask this fella to dance, at your own risk. The cars widened stance not only begets impressive looks, it simultaneously increases the foot print of this monster when it's out on the open road or battling ghost laps. Simply put, another great frontier chalked up to the "Subie Community," Chris D's creation undoubtedly deserves a hooah!

The Motivation
From the time I bought my first boosted car I knew I wanted something a little older and relatively easy to work on while straying away from what I would consider the “mainstream”. I bought the car right before I deployed to Afghanistan Spring of 2012. I really had no idea what “Subie” guys did to get power or even if I had a good power plant to work with, I more or less bought the car and rolled with it. Shortly after I arrived in Afghanistan I started researching everything I could between missions and guard shifts on the desolate COP overlooking the Pakistan border. I had decided before I left that I wanted to be “hellafunctional”; a little bit of flare and some go. Immediately I started ordering parts, my parents’ garage started looking more and more like a parts warehouse as the weeks and months went on.  The day I got back, I pulled my car out of storage and started wrenching. The parts warehouse of a garage turned into my home as I slaved away on the car. I managed to have everything installed in under 3 days with help from a good friend I had deployed with.  I’m pretty satisfied with where I am fitment wise but I’d love to go lower, I have no idea what the future holds for the car, but I know it’s only going to get better from here.

Future Plans
I’d like to do a full 06-07 Engine/Trans swap in the near future, the good ole’ 2.0 and “Glass Trans” just aren’t cutting it. Paint is definitely in the future when the swap is right around the corner.
